When the Walt Disney Company, king of animation and magic, comes to you asking to collaborate on a special holiday light show, it’s an honor as well as a challenge. The result: Starbright Holidays, a new multi-night holiday show of lights, drones, and music set over beautiful Lake Buena Vista at Disney Springs.
Three hundred Intel drones formed twinkling stars in the dark sky, then rearranged themselves into a constellation, then morphed into a rotating green Christmas tree, and ended by forming a massive white angel. The performance was set to traditional holiday music including O Holy Night, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, and O Christmas Tree. The show was presented thrice weekly from November 20, 2016, through January 8, 2017.
Between songs, Santa Claus himself could be heard delivering his famous “Ho Ho Ho,” and ended the show with words of wisdom to onlookers: “This holiday season, let’s all do our part and keep the wish and the magic alive in our heart.” YouTube lit up with dozens of videos of the show, with more than 550,000 views. Just like Mickey and Minnie, the partnership between Intel and Disney was a magical success.
