Filmed by the San Francisco creative agency Mac House and accompanied by a specially composed soundtrack, the performance utilized over 1,000 drones to create breathtaking, movie-like graphics. Centering on the story of Elle, the iconic character from Scott’s film, the performance included 11 animations, including Elle rising from a lotus flower and an animated fight scene. In addition, the words Blade Runner Black Lotus, Saturdays, and Tonight were spelled out over 85 feet high and 600 feet long across the sky in the Blade Runner: Black Lotus typeface.
Released by Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim and Crunchyroll, the performance was showcased across social media channels, where it has been watched by millions of viewers and received rave reviews from Blade Runner and anime fans across the world.
